'Guate Make A Difference' began in
August, 2011 as a ministry designed to help the women in the community
of Magdalena Milpas Altas, Guatemala, to learn about God and his love for
them while developing skills and a means to help support their family.
When the ministry began, the ladies gathered on a weekly basis for a Bible Study and refine their skills as they continue to loom knit scarves and were paid for every scarf they made. The
scarves are sent to the US and are available for purchase with 100% of the
proceeds being returned to the ministry to help provide an income for
the women and to purchase supplies. See More

Scarf Ministry Updates...
Would you consider helping out the Bible Study portion of our ministry in Guatemala? Our Scarf Ministry will begin a weekly devotional in February and would like to provide each woman with a copy of the devotional we will be using, "Jesus Calling", we already have a hard copy of the English version but are in need of several hard copies in Spanish, and would like the Kindle edition of both. We would like to be able to take them back with us during our visit. The paperback copies would need to be delivered before 2/3/15 but the kindle edition can be done at any time. If you would like to help us with this purchase, you can do so here or by making a donation of any amount at the link below.
Beginning in February, our Scarf Ministry will be getting into full swing with weekly gatherings with devotional time and to teach Crochet, Loom Knitting and new this year, Needle Tatting and Heddle Weaving. Along with this, we hope to teach the women the skills not only to make items, but also to sell what they have made and return a portion of the profits back into their own business.
We will keep you posted of the beautiful items they create and give you an opportunity to purchase them online, or at craft shows our ministry participates in New Jersey.
